RoMac Builder's Spotlight: Rise Construction

A Day with Charlie Rise: Crafting Homes and Building Dreams in Crystal River and Inverness

It was a rainy June morning in Florida as we made our way to the scenic towns of Crystal River and Inverness, eager to meet the man behind some of the most beautiful custom homes in the area—Charlie Rise of Rise Construction. As we pulled up to one of his bustling job sites, we were greeted by the sound of hammers and saws, a testament to the craftsmanship that has become synonymous with the Rise name.

A Legacy of Craftsmanship

“My father started the company back in the early 90s,” Charlie told us with a nostalgic smile. “I worked with him most of my life. Sweeping floors, I got really good at sweeping floors. Mostly, I was a little guy who was willing to go in the attic or under a mobile home trailer or something.”

Charlie’s journey from sweeping floors to building custom homes is a testament to his dedication and hard work. “I got into it in 2000 and 2003. I moved back here from working offshore. I started with remodels and kitchens and bathrooms, and that led to my first home build.”

The Rise Construction Difference

As we toured the site, it became clear that Rise Construction is not just about building houses; it’s about creating homes tailored to each client’s vision and needs. “We do a full-on scale design-build. You come into the office, we build you a home designed to meet your budget and the property that you may have purchased already. Or we also go out in the field and look for property for you and basically build a house design with a budget in mind and, you know, your personal needs.”

This hands-on, client-focused approach sets Rise Construction apart. “What separates us from, I think, the rest of the bunch is we sit down specifically with the client before we even break ground, and we’re picking out all the little designs, all the trim package, all the door styles. The customer gets to pick everything from start to finish.”

A Family Affair

Walking through the site, we noticed a strong family presence, something that Charlie takes great pride in. “My sister works in the office with me and my daughter, and we do like a whole family business. My cousin works with us. She does the AutoCAD as well, so it’s a good family business and that’s how we’d like to keep it.”

This sense of family extends to the job site as well, with Charlie’s son now following in his footsteps. “What my son does now is he works for us and he does a lot of the trim work. And that’s kind of exciting. He’s 20 years old now and he’s trying to go to school and figure his own life out. And it turns out he’s actually a craftsman. He fits right in the family just nicely. And so I’m pretty proud of him for that.”

Partnering for Success

A key element of Rise Construction’s success has been its ability to cultivate strong partnerships. “I was with RoMac from the beginning. They get such great service. They’ve always been there for me from, you know, from hard times through, you know, recessions to the good times. It always made me feel like I was number one, willing to give me their attention and their service.”

Building Dreams, One Home at a Time

As we wrapped up our visit, it was evident that Charlie Rise’s dedication to his craft, his clients, and his family has created a legacy that goes beyond bricks and mortar. “It’s kind of like a marriage, you know, we have to really feel each other out, and they got to be comfortable with us. I think that we spend a lot of time with the customer, hands-on, one-on-one. We answer the phone all the time, and that’s what I think separates us from the other guys.”

Rise Construction is committed to making dream homes a reality. Our day in Crystal River and Inverness was more than just a visit; it was an inspiring look at how dedication, family, and community come together to build not just houses, but homes.
